
Alessandro Ferrero was born in Milan, Italy, on December 9, 1954. He received his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. After having worked as a designer in an electromechanical company, he joined back Politecnico di Milano in 1983, as an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurement. From 1987 to 1991 he was an Associate Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurement at the University of Catania and, from 1991 to 1994, at Politecnico di Milano. Since 1994 he has been a Full Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurement at Politecnico di Milano.
His research activity has developed in the field of Electrical Measurement and covered the application of Digital Signal Processing techniques to power and energy measurement, measurement uncertainty evaluation and, recently, forensic metrology.
