Carlo Doglioni

Carlo Doglioni is professor of geodynamics at the Sapienza University of Rome since 1997, after having worked in the universities of Ferrara, Bari and Potenza. Since 2016 he is president of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV). His research is mainly on the mechanisms of plate tectonics and the origin of seismicity, studies for which he has received numerous awards. He is vice President of the National Academy of the Lincei, and member of the National Academy of Sciences called the XL and of the Academy of Europe.
