Edoardo Albisetti

Edoardo Albisetti is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of Politecnico di Milano, and scientific lead in the PhyND research group – Engineering Physics in Nanostructured Materials and Devices. His research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics, with a particular emphasis on developing innovative methods to control physical properties at the nanometer scale to create novel materials and devices for unconventional computing and photonics.

He received his M.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics cum laude and his Ph.D. in Physics, Nanotechnologies, and Innovative Nanostructured Materials from Politecnico di Milano in 2014. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was subsequently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow at the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center and New York University. He serves as principal investigator for numerous research projects, including an ERC Starting Grant, an ERC Proof of Concept Grant, and several projects funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research.

He is co-author of over 50 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and patents. He has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences, including the 69th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, and serves on the organizing committees of national and international conferences. He acts as a reviewer for several funding agencies and scientific journals. At Politecnico di Milano, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and mentors early-career researchers.
