
University degree in chemical engineering at Politecnico Turin, Italy
Enployed in Eni S.p.A. from 1985 covering many areas and responsabilities in energy and O&G sector.
After 20 years spent in different refineries (Eni and international JV) as responsible of technological processes, supply and refinery manager, he moves to headquarter as industrial and logistic director for global Eni downstream (Agip Petroli and Eni Refining&Marketing). At the same time, he has been assigned different roles in different Companies, controlled or participated by Eni (member of the Board of GALP Portuguese Petroleum Company, chairman of Raffineria di Gela S.p.A. and CEO of Milazzo Refinery S.p.A. From 2012 to 2016 covered the position of central director HSEQ (health, safety, environment and quality) for Eni group including controlled companies as Saipem and Snam, starting the pathway for the decarbonization and energy transition of Eni.
From 2015 and 2019 ha has been part of TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Raleted Finantial Disclosure Carbonsink), propoted by G20 and managed by Michael Bloomberg, together others 30 expert of different sectors at global level. The goal of TCFD has been to elaborate recommendations on governance, strategy, risk management and metrics&tartgets for the finantial disclosure on risks and opportunities evaluation linked to climate.
In 2016 he moved back in Eni Refining&Marketing as Chief Officer and from January 2021 became Eni Energy Evolution Chief Operating Officer, one of the two Eni DG that includes Refining&Marketing, Chemicals, Power, Retail and Renewables business.
From 2017 to 2023 he has been Chairman of Confindustria Energia and from 2018 to today is President of AIDIC (Associazione Italiana di Ingegneria Chimica).
From September 2024 is Chief Operating Officer Industrial Transformation of Eni.
