
Marco Taccani Gilardoni is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Gilardoni S.p.A., a long-established Italian industrial company based in Mandello del Lario (Lecco), a leader in the design and manufacturing of X-ray and ultrasonic equipment.
The company operates in three main sectors, medical, security, and non-destructive testing (NDT), and is internationally recognized for its quality, scientific research, and continuous technological innovation.
He graduated from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan and completed his secondary education at TASIS – The American School in Switzerland. He is fluent in English, French, and Italian.
Since 2017, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Legal Representative of Gilardoni S.p.A., and as a Board Member of Monzesi S.p.A. Società Benefit.
Throughout his career, he has held several significant positions within the Italian and international industrial landscape, including: Member of the General Council of Confindustria Lecco and Sondrio (2020–2022); President of the Metalworking Group of the Lecco Industrial Union (2005–2009); Member of the ACI Europe Aviation Security Committee; Representative of Italy within the IATA Security Division.
An expert in X-ray technologies, he has contributed to several international patents and industrial licenses, including:Versatile system for performing security inspections using X-rays (License No. 05110176.4); FEP-SCAN - Baggage inspection system (License No. 21439 B/89); Computer-controlled optimal-focus X-ray tube (License No. 1199448).
As a speaker and opinion leader, he has participated in numerous international conferences and forums, including ADSA 2017, RSNA Chicago, TranSec World Expo Amsterdam, ACI Airport Exchange Madrid, and the First Egyptian Italian Business Women Forum, contributing to discussions on security, technology, and industrial innovation.
He has also promoted major scientific and industrial collaborations, such as the technical and commercial agreement between Gilardoni and Picker (GEC-Marconi Group), which established Gilardoni as the development and production center for mammography systems distributed globally under the Picker brand.
In parallel, he actively supports technological solidarity and healthcare cooperation projects, promoting the donation of digital radiology systems to hospitals and medical facilities in Italy, Peru, and Papua New Guinea.
In addition to his corporate roles, he serves as an independent consultant and angel investor, committed to fostering sustainable innovation, sound corporate governance, and responsible growth within the radiological and industrial technology sectors.
